Children's Holiday Camp - Casa Harului

Casa Harului was set up as a holiday camp in 1996 by Ben and Maria, a Romanian couple, an outwards bound centre and a retreat for under privileged, disabled and autistic children in the surrounding areas of Deva, the local town. When it was first set up, all the children would sleep in tents, and go for long walks in the country side and the surrounding mountains. With our help (and one or two other UK based charities) we've be able to provide purpose built sleeping and shower blocks, purpose built catering facilities, a garden with seating area and a play ground. We also installed central heating in all buildings, fire alarms and emergency lighting systems. We have also funded and is now fully operational, a small guest hostel in the local village to help make Casa Harului self sufficient as the income from the guest hostel goes to the running of the holiday camp.

This is an ongoing project which requires support and funding from TFR.
